It was another nice day in Atlanta. I got in a nice long bike ride, did some yard work, and spent some more time out on the porch. To help me enjoy the beautiful day I decided to try the newest offering from Americas oldest brewery, Yuengling, which began brewing beer in 1829. Their Bock beer is brewed from late January until the end of March and is meant to herald the coming of Spring:

@TebooTedMarshall Probably some goofy distributor agreement that’s holding back Yuengling from being sold in OH.

Does anyone know what the hell its illegal to sell Yuengling in Ohio?

@chrisgsp Yeas I have, I’ll probably try it in The Fall.

Ever thought about reviewing Shiner Bock?

@dechm4af It was in our local beer store for about 3 weeks then it was gone. We get a decent selection of beer here but there is a lot we still don’t get.

@VideoBeerReviews I went to the brewery in Tampa last week for Yuengling. They had the Porter to sample. Reminds me of the Black and Tan, but had more of a coffee taste to it.

Where did you find this, I have never seen it at stores. You must have a really nice beer selection from where you live in Atlanta. Cheers

That’s not a bad price! Glad you enjoy the beer and thanks for watching!

It goes for 18 bucks a case here in eastern PA. Some distributors are sold out till next year. I just bought a case and really enjoy it.

Just went to my local Wegmans near Syracuse, NY to get some Genesee Bock beer, but they were out. I came home with a six pack of Yuengling Bock instead-Can’t wait to try it out !

    I grew up in Pittsburgh.

Yuengling actually has a brewery in Florida, I guess to handle demand in the Southeast. I will look for the Porter and see if I can get some to review.

Hey whereabouts PA are you from? I’m from Williamsport and I have been enjoying Yeungling products for quite some time. It’s good to hear the company is finally selling product outside of PA! Now I have reason to visit my relatives in GA. Just kidding! I highly suggest Yeungling Porter if your local store carry it…it would make for a good review.

Yeah, you need to support the home team if you can. This Yuengling is pretty good.

I will take you up on your suggestion about the “In the yard” review. I’ll wait until it gets good and hot out there, with lots of mosquitoes and then me and Andre will share a beer!

Hey, anything I can do to help the old home state :-)

    Thanks for watching!

Yuengling isn’t my favorite. But I’ve never had the Bock. I’ve had the Porter, the Black and Tan, and the regular Lager. Not horrible… but left me a little dry,. Black and Tan being my favorite. I’ll try this one just because I should being from PA. I recommend in an upcoming summer review you review a beer from IN your backyard. Would be really cool.

    Thanks for watching.

Since you have Netflix, have you checked out “Empires of Industry: Brewed in America?” It’s a History Channel documentary. (instant view is available) Very interesting! It’s amazing how breweries survived prohibition. Features some interviews with the president of Yuengling.
