This is a video made for the 48/5 film contest put on by the east lansing film festival. It was made by myself (Jeff Pianki), Phil Letten, and Mike Berlucchi. The video contest made some requirements that all entrees had to include. The theme had to be “opposites attract”, the prop was a post it note, line of dialogue was “there’s no such thing as a free lunch”, and it had to have a set of stairs in it. We had so much fun making it, so I hope you enjoy it as well!

It’s called root beer because we love root beer and there are a few references to root beer makers and things. The video makes sense but not really in a straightforward way. It is pretty ridiculous though haha.

well man i really love the track you have on the film…ive actually thought about how fun it would be to score a film….anyways i almost bought that camera allitle over a year ago…would love to see the quality of the film on something other than youtube…cause it even looks great on here.
my friend mike has an XL2 camera and he does a lot of work in film, and occasionally we’ll make a film. Or in this instance, we’ll enter a contest. There’s a description about it in the movie info. And yeah it’s my music, we needed royalty free tunes so I just made something the night before we turned the film in. Thanks for the kind words!
